Golf Accomplishments

Background:

A born and raised Calgarian, Jamie’s start in golf began with a trip to Palm Springs when he was fifteen to visit his older brother Dave, a collegiate golfer at the time. He took up the game that summer and after just three years playing, he was a scratch handicap and had already broken 70. Today, Jamie has become one of the most successful professional golfers from Alberta, recording over a dozen event wins from coast to coast in pursuit of his goal to lead the next generation of Canadian golfers on the PGA Tour.

With refined talent and a quiet confidence, Jamie recorded an unprecedented feat at the 2010 RBC Insurance Alberta Open, posting the lowest nine hole score in professional golf history – an astonishing 11-under-par 25. If you’ve ever held a golf club in your hands, you’re probably shaking your head in amazement. It’s true.

In January 2011, Jamie will head south to play full-time on the Gateway Tour with the simple goals of finishing first on the Gateway Tour money list, winning a Canadian Tour event and qualifying for the PGA Tour. When he’s not at the course playing or practicing, Jamie enjoys basketball and spending time with his wife Sherry.

25.
It’s almost an unimaginable score in golf. So, what does it take to go that low? Ask Jamie Kureluk. He’s the only player in professional golf history to accomplish the feat winning the 2010 RBC Insurance Open along the way.

Not Tiger Woods. Not Phil Mickelson. Not even world number one Lee Westwood.

After a dozen wins on the Alberta Tour including Player of the Year honours in 2009, Jamie’s set his sights on the PGA Tour. He’ll open the 2011 season in the US on the Gateway Tour for emerging talent and join the Canadian Tour in the summer in pursuit of his goal.
